In our container depot we dispose of a convenient storage capacity of 10,000 TEU. Here we handle every day empty and loaded containers that reach our depot and leave for new destinations – by truck, by train or by feedership.

In our barge terminal we produce daily barges that connect us with Bremerhaven but also other ports like Minden or Dörpen. In order to ensure an efficient handling we use special reachstackers. One of them is one of the largest in the market at the moment.

At our company site you will immediately become aware of the comings and goings at the berth, in the railway terminal and at the truck loading station. Every year we dispatch approx. 11,000 waggons in our rail terminal, while the entire handling capacity of our packing station runs up to 200,000 tons.

The 2,000 sq m railway terminal is completely roofed and guarantees – in all weathers – the efficient dispatch and handling of cargo, such as e.g. wire rods and steel bars from Saarland.

This area is supported by a 3000 square metres warehouse which includes a heavy-duty flooring.

For our customers, we take on the preparation of customs handling as well as coordination and control of the flow of goods. Permanent status control is realized online, data control and balancing with our customers is possible at any moment.

Every day we get containers on track to and from Hamburg, using the special services of NTT/Rail Link – due to this and to our close cooperation with other private railway companies we are closely networked with many relevant destinations.

From 2013, with the extension of the premises the Griepe Container GmbH becomes trimodal. During the week there are many incoming barges. They are served by two reachstackers to load and unload the containers. This barge terminal connects our company with various terminals such as Bremerhaven, Dörpen and Minden.

Boxes in special design. As you like it.
In close cooperation with our customers, we constantly realize container rebuilding and develop boxes in special design that have to cope with very specific demands. In the GCG gallery of special constructions you can find boxes for lateral loading, containers with racking systems, office and sanitary containers, living containers for offshore purposes or a mobile production plant for cement mixing and handling. Anything goes – almost.

For many national and international shipping companies and leasing enterprises we maintain and repair more than 1,000 containers every month.

Frozen foods and fresh foods, beverages, chemicals and many other special products strongly require the right temperature in every moment. In particular, this is true during storage or on long hauls – therefore, special refrigerated containers are needed. For many customers we take on the task of ensuring the sound performance of these special boxes – in our maintenance facilities for cooling containers. We take care that temperature is always in tune.

In Bremen Industrial Harbour we are also engaged in inland leasing and trading with containers. The product range runs from brand-new to secondhand boxes, including office and sanitary containers as well as other kinds of special designed units which have been precisely tailored at our company site to meet very specific demands.
